I created this image first, using Rinmanru Anime Avatar creator. While I will probably never have collar bones like my image, the background and book evoke a scholarly feel and speak to my professional setting, while my hair and earrings give me a little bit of a casual, fun feel. I like this avatar, and for now will use it when I need to. She's someone I could have a cup of coffee with. |
The next avatar I attempted was through Bitstrips. I have to admit that I find Bitstrips on Facebook to be annoying, so I didn't really start out with an open mind. She's fun, but is showing too much cleavage. The Sicilian defected Catholic voice in my head says, "Unprofessional. What would your grandmother say?" |
This one, from Build Your Wild Self, is just ridiculous. Stephanie's came out great, but she was a grownup and left out all of the animal body parts that really mess this one up |
Finally, I asked my daughters, ages 12 and 8 to give me a hand and help me out because I wanted to see what they would come up with in all of their raw, unfiltered honesty. The closest I've come in the past were their preschool drawings of me with my arms coming out of my head and stick legs and crazy hair. Little did I know how much they'd enjoy this. We went back to Bitstrips, since I wanted to give it another try. They spent a lot of time on my eye shape, and I found myself lying back on the sofa with a light shining in my face. It is no secret that as soon as I come home from work I change into a sweatshirt and pajama bottoms, and so it is reflected here. They had a lengthy discussion about whether I have one line that runs across my forehead or two. They did, however, agree immediately that I have lines under my eyes. This is my 'Mom' avatar. I'd have a beer with her. |
