I am the Grades 5 and 6 Technology teacher in Regional School District 13 (Durham/Middlefield/Rockfall). My work includes teaching students the digital literacy skills they need to navigate the ever-changing technologies they are faced with every day, and providing them with opportunities to try a variety of technologies and software. I love my job! In District 13, I also run the Grade 6 Student Senate and serve on the School Climate and Safety Committee for my school as well as the district's Instructional Technology Council. I began working on my Sixth Year Certificate in Instructional Technologies and Digital Media Literacy during the summer of 2014, and am very happy with what I am learning and the great group of people with whom I am learning it.
Personally, I am a mom and a wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. I help run the Durham Farmers' Market, tend a small flock of chickens and am a beekeeper. I am a strong proponent of safe agricultural and environmental practices and have a pretty sizable vegetable garden. I rode with a team of friends and family in my very first Smilow Cancer Hospital Closer to Free Bike Ride in September 2014 to celebrate my husband (who rode!) and his sister. Our two daughters keep us on our toes and never fail to surprise me with what they say, know, and do.
